Emergent stability in complex network dynamics

The stable functionality of networked systems is a hallmark their natural ability to coordinate between multiple interacting components. Yet, strikingly, real-world networks seem random and highly irregular, apparently lacking any design for stability. What then are the naturally emerging organizing principles complex-system stability? Encoded within system's stability matrix, Jacobian, answer obscured by scale diversity relevant systems, broad parameter space, nonlinear interaction mechanisms. To make advances, here we uncover emergent patterns in structure rooted interplay network topology intrinsic dynamics. These help us analytically identify few control parameters that determine dynamic Complex find, exhibit discrete classes, from asymptotically unstable, where unattainable, sensitive, which abides bounded range parameters. Most crucially, alongside these two third class, stable, sufficiently large heterogeneous acquires guaranteed stability, independent parameters, therefore insensitive external perturbation. Hence, most ubiquitous characteristics - heterogeneity emerge as ensure face changing environmental conditions.
